Traveling with younger children presents challenges all its own! Here are some resources to help you out!
After Hours Pediatrics
Sometimes kids get sick, and it’s usually when you least expect it! However, After Hours Pediatrics is a great place that loves kids. They’re open evenings, nights, and weekends, when most other doctors are closed, and make a great alternative to a costly visit to the emergency room.
Equipment Rentals
Somehow, it’s amazing how that one piece of critical equipment, maybe your stroller or pack-n-play, gets lost in transit. Don’t worry! We’ve got that covered! A Baby’s Best Friend is a fabulous local service that has almost any type of baby equipment you can think of that can be rented. They are one of the top referred businesses of this type in Orlando. You can check out their price list here, or you can contact your concierge for assistance. If there’s something you need to make things more comfortable, your concierge is ready and able to help you.
Kid-Friendly Dining
Being the home of Mickey and his pals, most of Orlando’s restaurants are “kid-friendly”. If you aren’t sure, or if you have concerns about whether that special restaurants will work for the whole family, your concierge has the answers you’re looking for. Helping you plan for the entire family, and the needs of each child, is our specialty!
Parent’s Night Out
Sure, you love your children, but it’s your vacation, too!
Walt Disney World Resorts
The two types of sitting available at Walt Disney World are the child care centers and in-room babysitting. The following information is courtesy of the Mom’s Panel at the Disney website.
All the child care centers are in deluxe hotels (Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht and Beach Club), but guests staying at any of the WDW hotels may use them. The child care centers only take potty-trained children, age four to twelve. The centers do take reservations and it is a good idea to make them. They open in the late afternoon and will serve your children dinner (which you select from a limited menu). There are movies, games, and planned activities for the children, as well as an area for rest as the evening gets later. You can get current pricing and make reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
In-room babysitting is available for all the WDW hotels. Disney contracts with a few companies to provide in-room sitters, including Fairy Godmothers (407-277-3724), and Kid’s Nite Out (kidsniteout.com). These sitters will watch smaller children and infants and, under some circumstances, special needs children. The sitters generally come to your room with a games, books, or small craft projects. They will put the kids to bed and then stay in the room until you return. To arrange for an in-room sitter you should speak to your concierge or contact one of the companies above directly.
Other Resorts & Properties
Kids Nite Out Babysitting Service is available for all resorts, so if you’re staying off-property, this is still an option. Your concierge would be happy to make arrangements for you, or you can contact them directly.
